The Wash House
The core focus of this project was to establish a framework for simple, yet profoundly meaningful, architectural change within existing community assets.

The proposed design included a Douglas fir opening system. This allows the façade to open playfully, facilitating interaction with the street, encouraging cross-ventilation, and injecting a sense of dynamic functionality into the hall’s usage.

This innovative approach is mirrored in the design concept for the rear Community Library. The proposal introduces integrated pop-out rooms into the study areas, increasing the usable floor space and creating versatile, study “pods” for working or socialising in.
